Verner Panton
Verner Panton (1926–1998) was a Danish designer known for his bold, futuristic approach to furniture, lighting, and interior design. After studying architecture at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen and working briefly with Arne Jacobsen, he developed a highly experimental style that pushed beyond traditional Scandinavian modernism. Panton became internationally famous in the 1960s for his use of vibrant colors, geometric forms, and new materials such as molded plastic, most notably with the iconic Panton Chair created in 1967. His work extended beyond individual objects to immersive interior environments and visionary installations that reflected the spirit of the pop and space-age era. Today, Panton is regarded as one of the most influential designers of the 20th century, celebrated for transforming furniture into expressive, sculptural forms.
