Space Copenhagen
Space Copenhagen is a Danish design studio founded in 2005 by architects Signe Bindslev Henriksen and Peter Bundgaard Rützou. Based in Copenhagen, the studio works across architecture, interior design, furniture, lighting, and art direction, developing projects that balance contemporary design with a deep respect for craftsmanship and materiality. Their approach is often described as “poetic modernism,” blending clean Scandinavian simplicity with tactile surfaces, warm atmospheres, and carefully composed spatial experiences. Space Copenhagen has collaborated with leading international brands such as GUBI, &Tradition, and Fredericia, producing furniture and lighting that combine sculptural presence with refined functionality. Alongside product design, the studio is known for immersive interior projects including restaurants, hotels, and galleries, where lighting, textures, and furniture are treated as a unified composition. Rather than following strict stylistic rules, Space Copenhagen focuses on creating spaces and objects that feel timeless, sensory, and human-centered. Today the studio continues to operate internationally from Copenhagen, developing projects that merge architecture, design, and atmosphere into cohesive and enduring environments.
