About this Product
The new PH 80 collection by Louis Poulsen celebrates the enduring legacy of Danish designer Poul Henningsen with a fresh, modern twist. Originally created in 1974 to mark what would have been Henningsen’s 80th birthday, the PH 80 remains true to his iconic three-shade design—crafted to create soft, glare-free light that fills the room with warmth and balance. In this new collection, the timeless silhouette is reimagined through updated finishes and new formats. Alongside the classic floor lamp with its distinctive red top reflector, Louis Poulsen introduces sleek monochrome black and white versions, offering a cleaner, more contemporary look. A new table lamp and a portable, rechargeable edition expand the range, bringing Henningsen’s design into everyday spaces—from living rooms and offices to terraces and bedside tables. Elegant and sculptural, the PH 80 diffuses light beautifully while serving as a striking design object. Whether in its classic or modern form, the collection captures the essence of Scandinavian design—functional, atmospheric, and timelessly refined.

About the Designer
Poul Henningsen, born in Copenhagen in 1894, was the son of the Danish writers Agnes Henningsen and Carl Ewald. He started practicing traditional functionalist architecture, but over the years his professional interests shifted to primarily focus on lighting, for which he is most famous. He also expanded his field of occupation into areas of writing, becoming a journalist and an author. For a short period at the beginning of WWII, Henningsen was the head architect of the Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen. But like many other creative people, he was forced to flee Denmark during the German occupation, and soon became a vital part of the Danish colony of artists living in Sweden.
