about this product

The Snoopy table lamp, designed in 1967 by Achille Castiglioni and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni for Flos, is one of the most recognizable icons of Italian lighting design. The lamp features a thick, beveled base carved from white Carrara marble, supporting a glossy enamel metal reflector whose curved silhouette subtly recalls the profile of the famous cartoon dog from which it takes its name. Combining industrial precision with playful character, the design balances weight and lightness: the heavy marble base anchors the object while the smooth metal shade seems to hover above it. Equipped with an integrated glass diffuser and a discreet dimmer switch, the Snoopy lamp reflects the Castiglioni brothers’ approach to design, where technical ingenuity meets humor and refined material contrasts.

Achille & Pier Giacomo Castiglioni

The Italian architects and designer brothers Achille Castiglioni (1918-2002) and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni (1913-1968) are among the greatest names of modern Italian design. Both studied architecture at the Politecnico di Milano (where they later worked as teachers) and their prolific output included many collaborations with major Italian manufacturers, such as Flos, Alessi, Kartell, Knoll and B&B Italia. Today, many of the brothers’ iconic designs are on display at museums and galleries around the world today, including the Vitra Design Museum in Germany, the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, and the MoMA in New York.
