About this Product
The Sintesi lamp by Artemide, designed by Ernesto Gismondi in 1975, is a quiet manifesto of Italian modern design, where clarity of form meets everyday intelligence. Reduced to a few expressive lines, its graphic silhouette feels almost like a drawing lifted into space, balancing precision with a sense of movement. Neither decorative nor austere, Sintesi expresses Artemide’s belief that good lighting should adapt naturally to life, remaining discreet yet unmistakable. Decades after its creation, it still reads as contemporary, a small architectural presence that celebrates function through elegance rather than display.

About the Designer

Ernesto Gismondi
Ernesto Gismondi (1931–2020) was a visionary Italian designer and entrepreneur, best known as the founder of Artemide, one of the world’s most influential lighting companies. Trained as an engineer, Gismondi combined technical mastery with a deep sense of aesthetics, creating designs that were both functional and poetic. He played a key role in defining modern lighting, championing innovation, simplicity, and the integration of human needs with elegant form. Beyond his products, Gismondi’s legacy lies in his philosophy: that design should illuminate life itself, not just spaces.
