About this Product

The Scarpa 121 Chair was designed in 1965 by Afra Scarpa and Tobia Scarpa. The design reflects the duo’s characteristic focus on structural clarity and craftsmanship, combining a solid wooden frame with a suspended leather seat that highlights the tension between rigid construction and soft material. The chair’s minimal geometry and carefully expressed joinery reveal the Scarpas’ architectural approach to furniture design, where structure becomes the main visual language. Originally conceived during the height of Italian modern design in the 1960s, the chair has since been reissued by Karakter, continuing the legacy of the Scarpas’ thoughtful exploration of materials, proportion, and construction.
