Els Van Hoorebeeck leads the interior design team at The Office Group, who specialise in designing flexible work spaces. Leading a team of in-house architects and designers, Van Hoorebeeck oversees all creative output for The Office Group (TOG)'s interior design projects, from site acquisition to developing interior concepts for work environments. "Every building we design is different," she told Dezeen. "We strive to create a better environment every time and we are doing it very intuitively, which makes the whole process fun."After completing her interior-design studies at LUCA School of Arts in Brussels, Van Hoorebeeck worked predominantly in the residential sector before landing an interior design role at Swiss furniture brand Vitra. "I acquired a good technical knowledge at the beginning of my career, which was a great basis to grow and adapt in the various sectors I have worked in," she explained.Since joining TOG, Van Hoorebeeck has designed a number of flexible co-working spaces across the UK, including in London, Bristol and Leeds. Her team has designed the interiors of all 33 of TOG's buildings, catering to over 15,000 members. "I make sure we end up with a product that reflects the vision of both TOG and the external architect or designer," she explained. Van Hoorebeeck describes the profession as being addictive and "a 24/7 kind of job". "Being an interior designer is a very rewarding job," she said. "You get to create beautiful environments that inspire people."
