Italian mid-century plastic and metal Ciot floor lamp by Chiggio for LumenForm, 1973 Ciot floor lamp composed of a hemispherical lampshade in white acrylic glass connected to the structure thanks to tubular steel. The central structure is composed of a cylinder, cut transversely, open in cream white plastic in which the bulb is present.

After graduating in architecture from the University of Venice in 1951, Chiggio began his career working as an industrial designer. He was deeply interested in the design of everyday objects, seeking to make them both aesthetically pleasing and functional. Chiggio was a fervent advocate of Italian design and its role in culture and industry. He believed that design should be accessible to all, and that well-designed objects could improve people's everyday lives. His work reflected this belief, combining elegance and practicality. Over the years, Ennio Chiggio has collaborated with many well-known Italian companies and brands, including Olivetti, Brionvega and Flos. His designs included products such as typewriters, televisions, lamps and furniture. His designs were often characterized by clean lines, geometric shapes and a judicious use of materials. Chiggio also played an active role in the education and promotion of design. He has taught at several art and design schools in Italy and participated in international conferences and exhibitions. He has helped to establish Italy as one of the world's design leaders. Throughout his career, Ennio Chiggio has received numerous awards and recognitions for his outstanding work.
