Eero Saarinen

Eero Saarinen was a Finnish-American architect and designer born in 1910 and passed away in 1961, celebrated for shaping mid-20th century modernism with bold, sculptural forms. From the sweeping curves of the TWA Flight Center in New York to the iconic Gateway Arch in St. Louis, his architecture feels alive with movement and optimism. In furniture design, his Tulip Chair reimagined the traditional four-legged chair into a single elegant pedestal, reflecting his desire to create harmony between structure and form. Saarinen’s work continues to embody innovation, fluidity, and a fearless vision of modern design.

"Always design a thing by considering it in its next larger context – a chair in a room, a room in a house, a house in an environment, an environment in a city plan."
