Introducing PRATONE®, a seat design that defies conventionalunderstanding and challenge the boundaries of artistic endeavor. Conceived in 1971 by Giorgio Ceretti, Pietro Derossi, and Ricardo Rosso, the PRATONE® has remained an iconic marvel in the world of radical design for over half a century. With its towering blades of "grass" handcrafted from soft polyurethane, the seat invites you to sink into its verdant cradle, embodying a surreal blend of natural and artificial elements.

Ceretti / Derossi / Rosso

Since the mid-1960s, Giorgio Ceretti, Pietro Derossi and Ricardo Rosso have interpreted architecture and design as a means to participate in social and political movements. United in Turin under the aegis of the Strum Group, of which they were the main guiding forces, together they designed for public places which have marked a time for Italian entertainment, like the Piper Club and l'Altro Mondo in Rimini. Along with Piero Gilardi, they designed the first pieces of furniture in polyurethane foam with an anti-design attitude and approach. With time, their work acquired an educational, socio-political and cultural function, so much so that they were invited in 1972 to participate into an exhibition organized at MOMA in New York entitled "Italy - the New Domestic Landscape" and curated by Emilio Ambasz.
