Nelson Miniature Chests
The solid wood Nelson Miniature Chest, inspired by Japanese design, provides lots of wonderful little spaces to keep wonderful little things. Made with hand-fitted drawers—the kind of American craftsmanship designer George Nelson insisted upon in 1952 and that is harder and harder to find.
George Nelson, born 1908 in Hartford, Connecticut (USA), studied architecture at Yale University. A fellowship enabled him to study at the American Academy in Rome from 1932 to 1934. In Europe, he became acquainted with the major architectural works and leading protagonists of modernism.
