Gear Tables

Kristian Sofus Hansen and Tommy Hyldahl

Gear is inspired by Brutalism Architecture from the mid-20th century. The sculptural coffee and side tables are designed as block-like structures, reflecting architectural building components of concrete. The Gear tables come with a circular tabletop, resting on top of three cylinder shaped legs. The legs are characterised by a fluted detail, adding a refined and organic signature to the design. The Gear coffee table is cast in lightweight fiber concrete with a unique and tactile surface texture.

Kristian Sofus Hansen and Tommy Hyldahl

After working in the fashion industry for many years, Tommy Hyldahl founded the Scandinavian label Norr11 in 2011, following his passion for interior design. His work focuses on his interest in materials and manufacture, which is reflected in the carefully thought-out collection. Co-designer Kristian Sofus Hansen studied architecture and design at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and the Kyoto Institute of Technology in Japan. In his designs traditional design methods merge with innovative production techniques to create high-quality furniture and objects. The creative collaboration between Kristian Sofus Hansen and Tommy Hyldahl began in 2015 and combines their preference for Japanese clarity and Scandinavian design. For Norr11, the designer duo created the Elephant Chair, which was inspired by the design language of the 1950s.
