Reverse Table Lamp
Inspired by the play on structure created by geometric constraints, the conical travertine base – left raw to let the light highlight its natural imperfections – and bronzed aluminium shade of Reverse define the lamp’s perfectly balanced expression. The light diffuses evenly across the unworked stone, raw in its expression, from its curved shade to reveal shadows and an intriguing colour play that appear to stem from the base itself.
Aleksandar Lazic has established a multidisciplinary design studio based in Copenhagen. The studio’s design philosophy is founded upon a single concept, balance, and the intention to combine aesthetic traditions of the past with contemporary ideas about function and form. ‘The key to creating a truly meaningful item is meticulousness in the detail,’ states the designer. ‘Only then can it reveal its full story.
