The Zodiac mirror by Jean-Baptiste Fastrez plays with its mirror surface to complete the « sausage » it is made of. Seemingly inflated and made of ultra glossy ceramic to remind the inflatable boat it bears the name, the Zodiac mirror frame looks full thanks to a symmetrical mirror image of half a ring into the mirror.
Born in 1984, Jean-Baptiste Fastrez lives and works in Paris. He won the 2011 Grand Prix du Jury of Design Parade 6 in Villa Noailles (Hyères, France). Since 2011, he has established his own design studio in Paris. His partners are the Danish textil manufacturer Kvadrat, the Galerie Lafayettes in Paris , Sèvres / Cité de la céramique, the glass reaserch center Cirva in Marseille, the french brand Moustache and the London and Paris based design gallery Galerie kreo.
