Zig Zag Chair
Designed by Gerrit Thomas Rietveld in 1934 and quickly deemed a design icon, the Zig Zag chair is one of the first examples of a cantilevered solid wood chair, formed by four flat pieces of wood joined in rhythmic sequence to create an extremely sophisticated appearance of instability.

Dutch designer and architect Gerrit Rietveld was a pioneer of modern design. Associated with the De Stijl movement, his progressive approach to architecture and furniture made a huge impact in Holland and beyond, and still serves as inspiration to the modern-day Dutch Design movement.
